Christening Completed!

Exhaust hose arrived bright and early as promised by ASAP Supplies – what a company!  However we had planned a bit of stock replenishment so we continued into town. Upon returning at 10.30 the hose was duly fitted. Steve was sidetracked by an ex-merchant seaman who needed a bit of help so it wasn’t until after lunch that the final activities could be completed to RUN THE ENGINE!

After using the starter motor to bleed all the injectors and to get oil to the turbo, at 15:18 the 6 cylinder, 185hp Perkins diesel came alive and without the rocker cover over she ran smoother than a Singer sewing machine. Great British engineering at its best!!  Now ready for tomorrow’s pontoonside extended run.  All being well we hope to leave Hull on Sunday.

Currently the wine is perfectly chilled and flowing freely with the sun beating down – the sun shines on the righteous!
